Sea Native – A Full‑Cycle Story of Respect, Tradition & Purpose
(Updated with “nothing wasted” philosophy)
Our Roots
For decades, we’ve worked alongside Native fishermen who understand the salmon cycle better than anyone — honoring each run as it returns:
- May – King Salmon
- July – Coho
- July–August – Sockeye & Pink
- August – Chum
- Mid‑August – Late‑run King (Tule) through the Columbia River & Puget Sound
These rhythms are part of our identity — and part of our responsibility.
Nothing Wasted — A Native Principle We Live By
In Native tradition, every part of the salmon has value. At Sea Native, we follow that same principle with pride.
We don’t waste anything.
- Blood becomes powerful natural fertilizer — Christmas trees fed with salmon blood grow twice as fast.
- Guts become nutrient‑rich compost — just 1 pound can enrich 30 pounds of soil.
- Heads & bones become flavorful soup stock, honoring the fish with nourishment.
- Scales become art — shimmering, natural decor used by Native artists for generations.
- Premium roe from Tule salmon supports tribal fishing families.
- The meat becomes smoked salmon or transformed into our 100% wild salmon dog treats.
This is the full cycle — nothing wasted, everything respected.
How Our Dog Treats Were Born
We began by processing fresh salmon for our restaurant, Simply Thai. Over time, we realized that the parts of the fish often overlooked by commercial buyers still held incredible nutritional value.
So we created a way to honor the fish fully:
- 100% wild‑caught Pacific Northwest salmon
- Single‑ingredient
- Hypoallergenic
- Naturally rich in Omega‑3s
- Human‑grade — dog trainers and owners can eat them too
I do — and I’m proud of it.
Why This Matters
Every bag of Sea Native dog treats supports:
- Local Native fishermen
- Sustainable, zero‑waste practices
- Pacific Northwest ecosystems
- Healthier dogs and cats
- A tradition of respect for the salmon cycle
And beyond that, a portion of every sale goes toward animal shelters and rescue programs, helping abandoned and homeless pets across the nation and around the world.
Our Message to Dog Lovers
We believe in using our natural resources with gratitude — not waste. We believe in honoring the salmon that feed our communities. We believe in turning what others discard into something healthy, valuable, and life‑giving.
If you love animals the way we do, then you’re part of this story too.
